The resolution imposes rehiring and substitute-work restrictions on employees who accept the early-resignation incentive. An eligible employee who signs the voluntary early resignation agreement is ineligible for employment with Silsbee ISD during the two school years subsequent to the resignation. The document further states that a professional employee who accepts the incentive and subsequently reapplies and accepts employment for the 2026-2027 or 2027-2028 school years shall reimburse the district the full incentive amount upon reemployment unless the superintendent approves otherwise.
The document also explains substitute-work limits: an employee who accepts the incentive cannot work for Silsbee ISD for at least six months and must work less than 10 hours a week as a substitute; a retired teacher or para who receives TRS insurance may sub more than 10 hours in that six-month period. After two years have passed, the resolution states there will be no restrictions.
