Seminole ISD board approves revisions to District of Innovation plan prompted by 89th Legislature

Superintendent Dr. Glen Teal explained that several changes to Seminole ISD's District of Innovation (DOI) Plan were necessary because of the 89th Legislative Session. The board approved the revisions, which removed the Campus Behavior Coordinator exemption and the SHAC recording exemption while adding exemptions for library procurement and advisory councils. Previously approved grievance timelines and instructional posting processes were retained.
The motion to approve the DOI revisions was made by Lance Wright, seconded by Herman Peters, and carried 6-0. Dr. Teal noted the DEIC (District Education Improvement Committee) had previously reviewed and approved the changes before the board vote.
