Eversource representatives told the City Council they are seeking permission to install about 10 feet of underground conduit across the city-owned sidewalk at 494 Wood Street to connect a customer-installed handhole. Jessica Elder said the work is covered by work order 20908016, should take only a few hours, and the area will be restored to "original condition or better." The council opened and then closed the public hearing and voted to place the petition on file.
Councilors asked whether a police detail would be needed because Wood Street is busy; council members agreed to require a detail if necessary. There were no speakers recorded in favor or opposition at the public hearing; the item was closed following the company’s presentation.
