The Comal County Commissioners Court presented a Texas Treasure Business Award to Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association of Comal County. Josh Salgy, the association’s general manager, accepted the proclamation and thanked staff and volunteers for the organization’s long history of service dating back to 1889.
Salgy described Farmers Mutual as a member-owned association and said, "This award is about more than just how long we've been in business... It's about people who made this legacy possible." He invited the public to a celebration at the association’s office and praised the cooperative spirit that has guided the organization for more than a century. The Texas Historical Commission representative presented the certificate on behalf of the commission.
