The Sanger ISD Board of Trustees canvassed the May 3, 2025 election results and certified elected and unopposed candidates. On a motion by Mitch Hammonds, seconded by Bruce Elsey, the board approved the canvass results by a 7-0 vote and then administered the oath of office to newly elected trustees.
The board then reorganized officers. Mitch Hammonds nominated Sarah York for president; the minutes record the vote as "Vote Passed: 6-0-1 (Sarah York abstained)." Jesse Hunter nominated Mitch Hammonds for vice president ("Vote Passed: 6-0-1 (Mitch Hammonds abstained)") and Mitch Hammonds nominated Jesse Hunter for secretary ("Vote Passed: 6-0-1 (Jesse Hunter abstained)"). The minutes do not provide further rationale for the abstentions; all three nominations were recorded as passed.
