The San Isidro ISD Board voted to accept the resignation of Trustee Velinda Reyes at a special meeting on Jan. 14, 2026. "Motion to accept the Resignation of Trustee Velinda Reyes," a motion recorded in the meeting minutes, carried with five trustees voting yea and one absent (Ricardo Vela). The motion was made by Aisha Reyes and seconded by Albino Alaniz Jr.
Before leaving the meeting, Trustee Velinda Reyes addressed the board, thanked members for their prompt response to her request, expressed appreciation for district staff and the community, and said she would continue to look for ways to support the district. Board President David Garza then presented a plaque recognizing her years of service. The minutes note that Trustee Cecilia Garza arrived at 6:05 p.m.; Mrs. Velinda Reyes’s resignation was recorded at 6:06 p.m., and she did not participate in subsequent votes.
