The board approved several facilities and maintenance items during the Oct. 21 meeting. Director of Facilities and Maintenance Thomas Krueger presented a contract award to Lone Star Communications, Inc. to replace the PA intercom at Spicewood Park Elementary; the board approved the contract by unanimous vote. "Mr. Carrillo moved to approve a contract to Lone Star Communications, Inc. to provide and install a new replacement PA Intercom for Spicewood Park Elementary as presented. Mr. Diaz seconded the motion. All members voted in favor; the motion carried," the minutes state.
The board also approved Change Order #1 for the Child Nutrition Building 600 freezer addition and renovation project after Krueger's presentation, and authorized the purchase of two above-ground fuel tanks, related hardware and services from PSI JF Petroleum Group, Inc. as presented by Deputy Superintendent Brandon Crisp; the minutes record unanimous approval for both items. Quantity for the fuel purchase is explicitly noted: two tanks.
