Committee refers several private livery license applications to full council

Clerk staff presented a series of private livery and delivery license applications during the Committee on Appointments and Briefings. City clerk communications introduced applications for new and renewal livery licenses for several local operators; committee members moved to refer each with favorable recommendations to the full City Council on Sept. 25.

Glenda Reyes, applying as Glenda Reisz Transportation LLC, told councilors she planned to operate a single vehicle for school runs and had off-street parking. “I applied for the, for some isolated application for new, private life... license for Reyes, Glendale Reyes Transportation, LLC,” she said. Councilors asked routine questions about vehicle count and parking; the motion to refer carried.

Rafaela Retayera, listed as Rafaela’s Transportation, said she has a garage and would operate a van for school routes. Ali and Sumaira Bukhari clarified their item was a renewal for Wheels Transportation and said they previously ran vehicles to airports and during overnight hours and were seeking to continue service. Denise Afonseca of Misty’s Transportation described plans for school and airport runs and confirmed two vehicles and off-street parking.

Councilors consistently sought basic compliance details — number of vehicles, off-street parking, and vehicle types — before referring applications. For each applicant the committee recorded an affirmative committee vote and a motion to send the matter to the full City Council for confirmation with a favorable recommendation. No applicant was denied at committee; any final approvals, conditions or licensing fees will be set by the full council or clerk’s licensing process.
