Abutter at 7th Street public hearing urges Eversource to address trees over powerlines

At the public hearing for an Eversource petition to relocate service at 21 7th Street, abutter William Maniatis told the City Council the utility pole associated with the property "comes directly in my folks' backyard" and that trees have grown over the power lines, raising safety worries.
Maniatis (23 7th Street) requested that Eversource or the construction team address the tree problems when performing the conduit work so the line and tree issues are remediated at the same time. Jessica Elder of Eversource replied she could not answer immediately at the podium but offered to have someone from construction follow up and asked him to leave contact information. The council recorded his concerns and the petitioner agreed to direct construction staff to contact the resident.
