The Amboy CUSD 272 board voted to enter executive session Jan. 23 to discuss personnel matters (appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees and contractors) and student-discipline matters. The motion to move into executive session was made by Drew Montavon, seconded by Nick Brokaw, and passed 7-0.
The board later returned to open session by motion of Elsa Payne, seconded by Mandy Powers; that motion also passed 7-0. The transcript records that the executive session occurred and that the board acted afterward (see subsequent student-discipline and personnel votes), but does not provide the content of closed deliberations, which is consistent with the confidential nature of executive sessions.
