At the Feb. 18 meeting, Assistant Superintendent Tiffany Whitsel presented multiple recognitions. Rockdale Junior High students earned All-Region Band honors at ATSSB Middle School auditions; Rockdale High School students advanced through All-Region and Area auditions with three students — Adeana Limon, Tyler Roberts and Destinee Bluford — later representing the district at the 3A All-State Concert Band at the TMEA Clinic and Convention in San Antonio.
Whitsel also recognized RHS sophomore and two‑year varsity letterman Kyndal Selgelid for Texas Sports Writers Association Honorable Mention All‑State Middle Blocker and All‑Brazos Valley Third Team honors. Luke Olivares was recognized for earning a Texas Bioscience Institute White Coat through the district's Temple College dual‑credit STEM program. Whitsel announced ROAR nominations for Brandon Stancik (RHS Math and Science teacher) and Debra Neal (RHS administrative assistant) for exemplary staff service.
The recognitions were presented as part of the Superintendent’s report; trustees acknowledged the accomplishments but no formal actions or funding decisions were recorded in the minutes.
