"We have 18,060 acre feet of the 90,000 acre feet Daryl mentioned, permitted out of Canyon Reservoir," Kelso said, noting that NBU has been able to leave 10–12,000 acre‑feet in the lake annually while continuing to serve customers.
Kelso described conservation and pricing strategies (tiered bills and demand management), an active non‑revenue water reduction program, an ongoing Trinity groundwater treatment plant expansion (from ~3.75 MGD toward 7.5 MGD) and an ASR project to store approximately 7,000 acre‑feet underground for future drought response. He also outlined a roughly $300 million five‑year CIP largely focused on capacity for growth and aging infrastructure replacement.
