District staff warned trustees that the planned solar project could incur additional costs because of required geotechnical reports and tree removals. Gopal Shanker said the district is "learning about contingencies that may add to the cost" and that he hopes the financier will absorb those costs so the district can receive the tax credit.
Dr. Vang asked staff to hold a community meeting before construction, saying RLS will be most affected by neighboring impacts. No financing decisions were made at the Oct. 30 session; staff will return with additional information on contingencies and financing options.
