Dr. Vang called on Director of Facilities and Operations Mike Florez and others to summarize immediate safety steps after a structural engineer advised that staff should not be on the roof "as they could fall through it." Florez said his crews will secure beams and loose materials.
The board did not adopt a funding action at the session; staff said they will seek hardship cost estimates and return with more detailed numbers. The re-roof estimate was presented as a high-level figure and trustees were asked to consider it alongside other prioritized projects in the district planning matrix.
