Ethics committee asks clerk to gather ethics commission files, clean-elections cases and fines

Committee members asked staff to pull a focused set of materials ahead of the next meeting, concentrating on ethics commission actions tied to clean elections laws and any subsequent House or Senate responses. Representative Amanda Collimore requested "any cases that have come before the ethics commission of a similar stance" and asked that fines, meeting minutes and transcripts where available be included.
Clerk Rob Hunt said he would reach out to the ethics commission and the law library to assemble materials, but he warned older committee transcripts and files may not be digitized before the 122nd or 124th legislatures. Hunt told the panel staff would also contact Representative Hall and his attorney and invite witnesses; written testimony will be accepted if invited witnesses decline to appear in person.
