The board discussed an amended scope of work by Environmental Solutions for maintenance of wetland NWRA‑33. Chair Kathleen Lonergan read the scope aloud, which described removing and disposing of "several dead or dying bushes around the perimeter and wetland NWRA‑33, specifically including the two dead oak and maple tree branches, southwest portion of the area, adjacent to water lilies," cutting vines at the water level, selective use of herbicide to knock back vines (not eliminate canopy vines), and hand‑pulling standing weeds where machinery cannot operate.
District Manager Chuck Adams explained the ES approach is more labor‑intensive handwork and likely to be more aesthetically pleasing, whereas A‑Z Tree Service would employ a forestry mulcher that grinds vegetation. The board confirmed the ES corrections had been made and the work inside NWRA‑33 will proceed under the amended scope.
