SRO John Rice and Elk Rapids District Library present safety and library updates
Summary
School Resource Officer John Rice reviewed the 2024–25 safety and preparedness work (Strategos training, E3 emergency app, Verkada cameras, EOP, reunification plan and door mapping). Library representatives Pam Williams and Aaron Hill also presented briefly.
At the July 7 meeting, School Resource Officer John Rice presented a year-in-review of safety and preparedness measures implemented during 2024–25, listing tools and activities including Strategos training, the E3 emergency app, Verkada camera systems, updates to the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), a reunification plan, and door-mapping work.
Pam Williams and Aaron Hill represented the Elk Rapids District Library in a short presentation included in the meeting’s special presentations. The presentations were informational and no board action was required.
The safety update was listed in the packet and recorded in the meeting minutes as part of the board’s ongoing attention to student and building safety.
