Board retreat outlines governance priorities; Coffee With the Board scheduled Oct. 25

At a Sept. retreat board members worked on team dynamics, board norms and governance tools and scheduled community engagement events including a Coffee With the Board on Oct. 25, 2024 at the Strasburg Legion Hall.
Board members summarized retreat outcomes and agreed on concrete steps to improve governance, communication and community engagement. Retreat sessions included an Emergenetics activity to identify team dynamics, training on the Board Books electronic agenda platform and a review of board norms and communication protocols; action items included refining the norms document and developing a governance calendar.
The board also set a Coffee With the Board community event for Oct. 25, 2024 at the Strasburg Legion Hall (7:30–8:30 a.m.) to discuss the role of board members and community perceptions of the district; FBLA’s 'BURG BREW' will provide coffee. Staff were directed to publicize the event in the community paper and to use the governance calendar to track follow-ups and training.
