Board members reviewed the July 2025 summer retreat agenda and provided A. Davis an opportunity to speak about goals and planning for the year.
A. Davis emphasized an emphasis on skills-and-trades goals and the use of DAC guidance to develop a 'Portrait of a Graduate' for career pathways. The transcript records that "Construction Trades Lab is a valuable resource, and we want to get funding to bring in licensed CTE professionals, so this program can be launched." Board members agreed the district will present at CASB this year and discussed steps to develop course materials and a course-development handbook for incoming high-school students.
The board also discussed state-supported opportunities to advance multi-district internship and apprenticeship programs and the need for a dedicated counselor for career development. No personnel hires or specific funding approvals were recorded at the worksession; these items were presented as planning priorities.
