The MAC reviewed a 2004 Arborist Study and June 2005 recommendations to inform tree maintenance and management in Oak Park. Michelle Santucci noted the study remains a useful reference despite its age and said materials were shared with Mariposa Landscaping for consideration; councilmembers stressed that trees should be maintained and not removed unless necessary.
JL Diaz said he will meet with Mariposa Landscaping to discuss implementing the study’s recommendations. Brian Trushinski referenced a previously damaged olive tree and said Public Works has been involved; members asked Mariposa to develop an approach that balances maintenance with protecting significant trees and native species.
