Sam Kirkpatrick said materials from two magnet schools have been relocated to Mary Morrison and maintenance is installing two to three replacement air conditioners per day so classrooms are ready when teachers arrive in early August. He reported that initial water tests showed two to three areas near the action limit; the district will install filters at those sites and retest to confirm safety before students return. The fire marshal's inspection is scheduled for next week, staff said.
Board members asked whether testing cadence should be more frequent than annual during the first year; the administration said it will consider targeted, short-term retesting of affected outlets and return with a recommended schedule.
