The hearing officer granted the property 30 days to comply, stated the deadline as October 10 and warned that if the owner does not obtain the permit or otherwise come into compliance a $100‑per‑day fine would commence after that date.
A resident at the hearing questioned why the enforcement and fee requirements appeared to be applied only recently despite long residence at the property; staff responded that the original citation dated from June and that the regulation has been in effect. Inspector (speaker 2) provided the owner with the permit application and staff contact information to request extensions if progress is being made.
Next steps: the owner must submit the application and demonstrate compliance by Oct. 10 to avoid fines. The board indicated it will monitor the case and accept requests for additional time if a permit application is pending.
