The Slaton ISD Board accepted the district’s Annual Investment Report on Oct. 14 and voted to affirm the district’s investment policy review and officer designations. Art Martin presented the Annual Investment Report and the Board "accepted the administration's recommendation to approve the report as presented," a motion moved by Kara Newcomb and seconded by Jaime Diaz that carried unanimously.
The Board also reviewed investment policies identified as CDA(LEGAL) and CDA(LOCAL) and formally designated Superintendent Shelli Conkin and CFO Art Martin as investment officers. The Board approved TASBO, NCTCOG, PTA, UNTPF and Hilltop Securities as approved sources of investment training. Greg Schilling moved, seconded by Emily Hargrave, that the Board had reviewed the policies and designate the officers and training sources; the motion carried 5–0.
