At its Jan. 21 meeting the Tisbury Finance and Advisory Committee recommended approval of multiple Community Preservation Committee warrant articles for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting. Motions included $40,100 for the Katharine Cornell legacy project, $90,000 for Stevens Chapel stained glass restoration, $85,000 for Lake Street Park ADA restrooms, $5,000 for Tisbury parks entrance signs, and $17,650 for tennis/pickleball amenities; each of these motions passed unanimously, 9–0.
The committee also recommended housing-related articles as a group: $50,000 to a Municipal Housing Trust; $183,300 toward Island Autism affordable housing; $130,000 in rental assistance through the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority; and $100,000 for Harbor Homes property creation/renovation. Administrative CPC expenses of $25,000 and an amendment to a 2025 Island Housing Trust West Tisbury article were recommended; these motions passed unanimously as presented. The FinCom noted that some regional projects are contingent on updated language and that Town Meeting holds final authority.
