A student who identified herself as Anna told the board that high-schoolers are often not reached by district social media and suggested sending emails and using school channels to increase student participation. "I go to CAB, and I was just wondering, is there a way to send communication out to high schoolers in the district if you wanted, like, specifically more involvement from the high schoolers," she said.
Board members and Mobley said the district will expand outreach through email, text and principal networks and that student councils and leadership groups are possible partners for targeted student engagement. Mobley noted the district's communications system reaches parents in multiple languages and said technical work is underway to ensure student contact data is complete as the district updates its systems.
