Red Oak ISD reports district score of 77; trustees hear CCMR strategies

Megan Korns presented the district's assessment and accountability results, explaining how performance levels (approaches, meets, masters) guide interventions for the coming year. "Our student achievement ... we received 73 out of a 100," she reported, and she walked trustees through how STAAR, EOC and TELPAS feed into the district ratings.
Korns highlighted campus distinctions for Wooden Elementary, Shields Elementary and Red Oak High School, and she said the district saw a 22-point gain in its high-focus group and an 8-point overall gain since 2023. On CCMR, Mister Cordero described a steering committee that meets regularly to review seniors' and juniors' plans, use dual-credit and industry certifications, and run summer bridge programs; he said the high school reached an 86% CCMR rate after sustained effort.
Trustees asked about walkthrough calibrations, teacher engagement and whether the district could show progress between the first and final assessments; administrators said they are piloting portfolios and data walks through Eduphoria and will provide more grade-level growth tracking if state rules permit.
