Vice Chair Sharon Jones moved the motion citing North Carolina statutory bases for closed sessions—attorney‑client consultation (NCGS 143‑318.11(a)(3)), personnel matters (NCGS 143‑318.11(a)(6)) and real property acquisition (NCGS 143‑318.11(a)(5)). The motion was seconded and approved by voice. After returning from closed session, the board stated "There’s no action to come before this board, based on closed session discussion at this time."
