San Felipe‑Del Rio CISD on July 27 voted to submit the Year 4 continuation application for the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers federal grant, seeking $1,771,768 to operate after‑school and summer learning programs. Jane Bridal, presenting the application, said the program serves elementary and middle school campuses with academic interventions and enrichment activities.
"We are asking for a total of $1,771,768," Bridal said, and noted the program operates approximately 155 days and requires participants to attend at least 60 days to be counted. Bridal also told the board the program exceeded its enrollment target by 186 students last year, serving 1,090 participants. The board approved submittal of the federal application as recommended by administration.
If funded, the continuation award would support supervised academic interventions, enrichment and social‑emotional activities across eligible campuses for the 2026–27 school year; administration will return with any award notifications and program reporting requirements.
