County recognizes HR staff and intern for SHRM‑CP credentials

Cumberland County presented recognitions Aug. 3 to HR liaison Taylor Young and Ignite intern Emma Zakela for earning the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM‑CP) credential.
Dominic Hall, the county’s human resources director, described the SHRM‑CP as a nationally recognized credential demonstrating competency in employment law, talent acquisition and organizational leadership. "Earning the SHRM CP credential requires a significant commitment to professional development," Hall said. Taylor Young thanked Hall for the opportunity to take the exam; Emma Zakela said the Ignite internship helped connect classroom learning to practical work.
Commissioners praised the Ignite program as a budgeted effort to develop local youth and workforce capacity.
