County manager: animal-shelter feasibility RFP expected by end of September

During the county manager report, Shahrami updated commissioners on several capital projects and administrative items and said the county will post an RFP for a feasibility study on an animal shelter by the end of September.
When Commissioner Romero asked for a status report, Shahrami responded, "no, we have not put up the request for proposal yet. Probably by the end of September, we'd like to get that out," and added that staff would include feasibility work on whether the old armory could serve as a shelter site. Shahrami also noted auditors would be on-site next week for the county audit and that budget adjustments for the Espinosa Road project were placed on the consent agenda.
The commission did not take an immediate vote on the shelter study but directed staff to finalize the scope and proceed with procurement timing.
