State auditor launches performance audit of $70,000,000 ERP project

The Joint Information Technology Oversight Committee heard from Tim Ash, deputy state auditor, who announced a performance audit of the state's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project intended to inform the committee ahead of the next legislative session. Ash said the review was initiated in mid-May and is being conducted by contracted firm CLA.
"This is not a small project as you know, over $70,000,000 all in," Ash told the committee, emphasizing the internal importance of the HR, budget and finance components under review. He said CLA has experience reviewing ERP implementations in other states and that ADS has cooperated with document and information requests. The contract is posted on the auditor's office website and Ash said the audit team expects a draft early in September with the contract ending at the end of September.
