The Maple Valley City Council voted to appoint Dace Anderson to the Arts Commission and Mike Burgess to the Planning Commission on Jan. 27. Councilmember Syd Dawson provided overviews of the candidates interviewed before moving the appointments; Councilmember Didem Pierson seconded the motion. "MOTION to approve the appointments of Dace Anderson to the Arts Commission and Mike Burgess to the Planning Commission made by Councilmember Dawson and seconded by Councilmember Pierson. Motion carried, 7-0," the minutes state.
The appointments were taken during the New Business portion of the meeting and will be reflected in commission rosters going forward. The minutes do not record additional public comment on the individual candidates.
