Council approves multiple finance items including grants for trails, food-waste project and supportive housing agreement

The finance committee reported $10,865,284.59 in accounts-payable vouchers and $2,584,132.93 in payroll payments for the June 16–30 pay period; the council concurred by motion. The council also authorized an interagency agreement to accept $110,426.16 from the Washington Administrative Office of Courts to support community-court case-manager staffing and recovery services. The committee recommended and the council approved a supportive-housing agreement with M and J LLC for temporary supportive housing services not to exceed $200,000, which council members described as a use of opioid-settlement funds toward a 30-day treatment program and interim housing.
Other approvals included a $283,181 professional-services agreement with Mackenzie Engineering Inc. for a City Hall first-floor remodel to improve public accessibility; acceptance of $485,000 in Department of Commerce grant funds for the Sam Chastain Trail; a $66,970.19 King County grant for hazardous-fuel disposal programming; and a $250,000 King Conservation District grant and appropriation for food-waste prevention and recovery work. All items were moved, seconded and carried in the meeting's motions.
