The New London Board of Education Policy Committee met via Zoom on Feb. 24, 2026. Chair Scott Garbini called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. The committee accepted minutes from Oct. 7, 2025 (motion by Garbini, second Amanti) and Nov. 18, 2025 (motion by Amanti, second Perkins); both motions carried, 3-0.
During the meeting the committee removed Policy 6148 (FAFSA Completion Program) from the table for discussion and later tabled it again after members raised privacy and policy-clarity concerns. The committee also voted, 3-0, to recommend recodifying Policy 6142.2 to Policy 6142.101 (Student Nutrition & Physical Activity) with administrative edits to clarify committee language. The meeting adjourned at 6:34 p.m. (motion by Amanti, second Garbini; carried 3-0). Attendance was recorded in the minutes: Scott Garbini (Committee Chair), Becky Amanti (Committee Member), Betsy Perkins (Community Representative); Kristea A. Francolino and Dr. Cynthia Ritchie were present for administration; several committee members were noted as absent in the roll call.
