Board reviews Traffic Calming Assessment, schedules radar signs and considers golf-cart rules

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed Tier 1 and Tier 2 traffic-calming strategies from the draft Traffic Calming Assessment 2025 and said initial education-based road, bike and golf-cart safety measures are already underway. He told the Board that three permanent and one mobile speed radar signs will be delivered throughout the property the first week in February and that recorded speeding violations have decreased.
Krebs asked Board members to advise him or Chair Bob Schultz of additional areas needing attention and requested Page 9 of the report be updated to include the conclusion of the Traffic Study. He said residents will be informed about existing mandates and that the Board is considering installing "Do not pass golf cart" signs at the front entrance and crosswalks. The Pelican Sound Board is also reportedly considering modifying traffic-violation terms in its bylaws, which may affect enforcement within the larger community.
