Engineer: drainage systems performed but Tropical Storm Debbie stressed capacity; resident mold claim disputed

District Engineer reported MRI inlet-grate replacement is ~80% complete and noted parts of the community received nearly 8 inches of rain during Tropical Storm Debbie (roads designed for roughly 5½" in 24 hours). A resident blamed standing water for mold in one unit; the engineer said he does not believe standing water caused the issue.
District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported that the MRI project to replace Pinehurst valley gutter inlet grates is about 80% complete and that he will follow up on a schedule for the asphalt patch. Reviewing stormwater performance after Tropical Storm Debbie, Mr. Krebs said "parts of the community received almost 8” of rain in two or three days and the roads are designed for 5½” of rain over a 24-hour period." He advised Mr. Long that The Club could add a drainage connection to E1-A to allow water to bypass pipes and inlets and flow directly to the lake as a mitigation option.
A resident said standing water was coming up through their slab and causing mold in their unit. Mr. Krebs recalled Mr. Long stating standing water has been an ongoing occurrence and "does not believe the standing water is the cause of the resident’s problem, as none of the other units reported a similar issue." Mr. Schultz asked that Mr. Long comment and requested the matter be added to the next agenda for further review.
