Mark Zordan of Johnson Engineering presented the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report, reporting that Lee County reviewed and approved the report and that it will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection before the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline. He said a new permit is expected in the fall but no issuance date is known; staff were instructed to continue into Year 8 until the new permit is available.
The Board and staff also discussed possible future changes to water sampling requirements. A Johnson Engineering representative will continue to attend the county NPDES meetings and forward minutes to the District Manager to keep staff apprised of any regulatory changes.
