Board approves RG Architects engagement for gatehouse redesigns and related financing plan

Eric Long presented RG Architects, P.A.'s fee proposal to redesign two gatehouses and coordinate monuments across the River Club, Racquet Center and Golf Club complexes. Long said the buildings will receive a 'facelift' rather than be demolished and noted the main gate has been hit 12 times this year due to low clearance.
The Board discussed zoning, elevation certificates, and the need for new elevation certifications because flood zones may have changed. Mr. Long proposed booking the $62,500 expenditure as a reimbursable, to be invoiced to the CDD when financing is issued, to allow design and permitting (expected to take 12–18 months) to begin without delay. The Board authorized Bowman to retain RG as a subconsultant under Bowman terms and authorized the Chair to execute documents after review by District Counsel and the District Manager. Mr. Long will lead project coordination and Mr. Blumenthal will serve as the Board liaison for communications and monthly updates.
