Supervisor James Gilman resigns; board outlines appointment process for Seat 1

The River Ridge CDD accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expires Nov. 2026) at the Aug. 27 meeting. Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and, following discussion, the board accepted the resignation on a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly.
Because this is an appointment to fill an unexpired term rather than an election, the board asked Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property owners association manager to e-blast residents about the vacancy, explain candidate qualification requirements, and invite interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. Staff noted the oath of office, required ethics training, Form 1 and Form 8B filing, and guidance on the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics will be provided to the new appointee.
