The City Council voted unanimously, 6-0, to accept a 2026 NHDES Exotic Aquatic Plant Control Grant in the amount of $57,100 and to appropriate $57,100 to the Administration Non-Departmental account for aquatic plant control work in Paugus Bay and Lake Opechee.
City staff presented a project cost breakdown: total project cost $114,200; NHDES grant $57,100; city share $57,100; Lake Opechee Preservation Association (LOPA) reimbursement ($4,692.19) for work in Lake Opechee, producing a total cost to the city of $52,407.81. Director Mora indicated he had consulted Conservation Chair Dean Anson and that the funding level was appropriate. The council authorized the City Manager to sign all documents related to the grant acceptance.
