Les Hauer explained the Edulink Systems platform and how it integrates with the district's Synergy student information system to trigger automatic phone calls to families when students are marked absent or tardy. Chief Education Officer Dave Dirksen said the district anticipates the system will support communication with Navajo Nation families and improve attendance outreach.
The board approved the Edulink adoption on April 1. Emily Morton noted she does not use Synergy for online attendance, and the minutes record talk of other possible uses for the platform beyond absence calls.
