Cottonwood County approves legal services contracts and offers part-time jailer post

At its Jan. 21 meeting, the Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners approved two legal services agreements and authorized a conditional job offer for a part-time Jailer/Dispatcher.
County Coordinator Kelly Thongvivong presented the agreements for Maryellen Suhrhoff of Muske, Muske & Suhrhoff, Ltd., and for contractor Amanda Pflueger, both effective Jan. 16, 2025. The board voted, on a motion by Commissioner Larry Anderson and a second from Commissioner Tom Appel, to approve the contracts by unanimous vote.
The board also voted to offer the part-time Jailer/Dispatcher position to Mikal Anderson at the Range 12 minimum rate of $24.78 per hour, pending satisfactory completion of hiring requirements. That motion was moved by Commissioner Donna Gravley, seconded by Commissioner Wayne Maras, and passed unanimously.
The approvals were recorded during routine staff business handled by the county coordinator; the board did not specify additional contract terms in the minutes.
