County auditor says tax-forfeiture live auction opens Dec. 6 for 30 days

Carolyn Rempel, Cottonwood County Auditor/Treasurer, briefed the board on the county's tax-forfeiture process. Rempel said a live auction will open for 30 days beginning Dec. 6, 2024. She reported that an advertisement about the tax-forfeiture process was published Nov. 6 and she plans to advertise additional times before the Dec. 6 launch.
The board took no additional action beyond receiving the update. Rempel's remarks provide the schedule and outreach plan for property sales under the tax-forfeiture process; specific properties and auction procedures will be available when the auction opens.
