Trustee Vick told the board that H.R. Green has completed a survey for Orchard Drive and that the village plans to solicit bids in July if grant funding is secured.
Deputy Clerk Prehn described the application to the Illinois Department of Transportation as zero match, saying, “It’s also zero match for us. So, we basically pay nothing which is awesome.” President Counley added that if the village receives the award — which he estimated could be about $1.2 million — the work could be packaged and put out for bid in the spring to address multiple streets.
Officials said the village applied to IDOT for funding for all village roads but that Spring Road would be the priority if the full request is not awarded. Trustees instructed staff to continue coordinating engineering, bidding schedules and grant follow‑up.
