The McCullom Lake Village Board on June 24 adopted Ordinance 569, the village’s Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2025–2026 and the associated Estimate of Revenues.
Trustee Vick moved to adopt the ordinance and Trustee Bogacz seconded; the ordinance passed on a voice vote with all present trustees recorded as ayes. The recorded minutes note the board also approved routine minutes, the treasurer’s report and payment of bills during the meeting.
The vote comes as the board discussed state changes to grocery sales tax revenues and potential local options to replace lost revenue. Deputy Clerk Prehn told the board, “We get around $40,000 dollars in sales tax,” a figure officials said they are trying to refine as the state prepares to repeal the one‑percent grocery tax effective Jan. 1, 2026. Attorney Shaw said the board will consider draft ordinances at a future meeting to allow the village to adopt replacement sales‑tax options before the state deadline.
The board set the next regular meeting for July 22, 2025, when officials said they will consider related ordinances and a proposed permit fee schedule increase.
