Board of Trumbull County Commissioners takes petition to vacate 60‑foot Levisburg street under advisement

The Board of Trumbull County Commissioners on July 29, 2026 took under advisement a petition to vacate a 60-foot-wide unnamed street in the Levisburg Garden Farms plat in Warren Township during a noon public hearing in the commissioners' hearing room.

David Daugherty, who identified himself as representing the petitioners, told the board the original plat was laid out by the Union Savings Trust Company in 1921 and that the strip of land "the road's never been opened, never been used by the public, serves no useful purpose to the township or the citizens." He said there are four petitioners who each own property on either side of the proposed vacation.

Officials on the record said administrative documents are on file for the matter, including letters and reports from the Trumbull County sanitation engineer (dated 06/12/2026), the Trumbull County Planning Commission (06/17/2026), the Trumbull County engineer (07/22/2026) and the Trumbull County auditor (06/30/2026); Warren Township trustees submitted a resolution accepting the vacation dated 06/23/2026.

A commissioner moved to take the petition under advisement and the motion passed with recorded 'yes' votes from Commissioner Malloy, Commissioner Hernandez and Commissioner Bernard. The board recorded no speakers in opposition during the hearing. Later the board moved to adjourn and the motion passed by the same recorded vote tally. The action to take the petition under advisement is a procedural step; the board did not adopt a final order to vacate the street during this session.
