Centertown advances minimum-housing standards ordinance to second reading after yard-cover amendment

Chairman Pro Tem Heather Hunger moved for the first reading by title of Bill No. 0025-007, described as Minimum Housing Standards, and trustees discussed language in Section 17 regarding property maintenance. During discussion the board agreed to amend subsection B.4 to require that yards, courts and vacant lots under one acre be covered with adequate lawn, ground cover or vegetation not to exceed six inches in height.
Trustee Paula Hinshaw moved to amend Bill No. 0025-007 with that change and to advance it for second reading at the Nov. 13 special meeting; Chairman Pro Tem Hunger seconded. The clerk polled members: Yea — Baker, Hunger, Hinshaw. No ordinance adoption occurred at this meeting; the item will return for a second reading on Nov. 13.
