The board reviewed options for using the Cole County ARPA Grant balance, which the clerk reported as "$4,182.17." Resident Jim Baker presented proposals for a flagpole, embroidered flag and banners and for American flags on light poles; the clerk read possible projects with estimated costs including culvert repair ($1,400), a park bench ($550), trail cameras ($500), and gate repair ($650).
After discussion, Chairman Pro Tem Heather Hunger moved to authorize culvert repair at the walking trail, placement of a park bench at Main and Broadway, a flag display project, purchase of trail cameras, and gate repair, with Trustee Paula Hinshaw seconding. The motion passed on a voice vote and the board instructed Mr. Baker to continue coordination with AmerenUE to determine the viability of flag placements.
The board also discussed an estimate of $1,000 to remove a portable shed at the ballpark and noted water-works employee Kyle Wirts had offered to pay $500 to purchase the shed if needed. No further appropriation beyond the ARPA balance was approved at the meeting.
