The Village of Lazy Lake Council announced that a planned special election on March 10 is unnecessary after no opposing candidates filed for the available council seats.
As recorded in the minutes, the council noted the Supervisor of Elections will not be notified because the following qualified candidates will assume office without election challenge: Ray Nyhuis (Mayor); Jeff Grenell; Arnold Aliff; William Daugherty; Dana Merrill Jr.; and Patrick Kaufman. The status eliminates the need to conduct the special election and avoids associated election costs for the village.
