"The salary increase he is looking for is an additional ten thousand," the record states.
Mayor Hutnick congratulated Brush and told the council that because the full council was hearing the request for the first time they needed time to review numbers and budget implications. Brush argued the raise should recognize personal expense and operational value, saying he saved the town roughly $4,000 and that "it is a big license to hold and not be compensated for it." Council members agreed to discuss the request and indicated they would try to have a discussion within a two-week period.
No pay adjustment was adopted at the Aug. 25 meeting; the council said it would review the request and present a proposal at a subsequent meeting.
